Rocky Ford Area
Sunbanks Resort visitors who are avid birdwatchers should take a side trip to the Rocky Ford Area. This cattail marsh and shrub steppe offers four season birding. This area boasts feathered residents including curlews and other shorebirds, yellowthroats, snipes, herons, kingfishers, meadowlarks, and sparrows.

Dry Falls
The Sun Lakes Resort is a very short distance from one of the most magnificent geological wonders in North America. “Dry Falls” stands 400 feet high and over three miles wide. You may not believe it, but when this waterfall was active it stood ten times larger than the famed Niagara Falls. Dry Falls’ onsite visitor center is the perfect place to enjoy the awesome view of this natural monument.
