Bald Eagle Festival: President’s Day weekend. Guided bus tours to view the sites at Northrup Canyon and other day tours in the surrounding areas. Eagle watching, art and poetry contests, quilt show, Ugly Truck contest, information forums, and evening entertainment.

Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center is open for tours.

April 2010

Fishing season opens.

May 2010

Colorama Festival & PWRA Rodeo: Mother’s Day weekend. Arts, crafts, carnival, entertainment, art show, and food booths. Saturday Cowboy Breakfast, 6:30 to 11 a.m. Health Walk at 8 a.m. North Dam Park, Grand Parade.

Koulee Kids’ Festival: Father’s Day weekend. Contests, games, prizes, music, and entertainment.

July 2010

Festival of America: July 4. A patriotic tribute to old-fashioned family fun. Arts and crafts booths, American food fair, daily live entertainment, and fireworks off the top of the dam.

Colville Tribal Pow Wow & Encampment: The Fourth of July Pow Wow is Colville Tribe’s largest cultural event and attracts singers and dancers from throughout Indian Country. Be prepared for a parade, vendors, games, and more. For more information, visit www.colvilletribes.com/tourism.htm.

August 2010

Omak Stampede: August 5th – 9th. This rodeo has been going on since 1933 and has since become one of the largest and most respected rodeos in the Northwest.
